Our ingredients

To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it can be processed better in our chunks. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for the dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog we use meat from freely raised and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color and is full of vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog we use duck, chicken and turkey, which together provide the kibble with a delicious taste and aroma. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle building and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants from Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants and algae, among other things, has its origins back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food has been carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or the breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by the use of herbs, roots, flowers and plants.

Alaska malamute specific vegetables, herbs and fruit

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Alaska malamute. We have also conducted research into the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Alaskan malamute belongs. From these studies, in consultation with a leading Dutch nutritionist, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Alaska malamute.

Peppermint

Peppermint is a plant from the Lamiaceae family. It is the plant that led to the making of mints. Peppermint originated from a cross between water mint and spike mint. The plant was found in England in the seventeenth century in a field with mint plants. The plant is grown in England, France, China, Japan and North and South America.

We can add peppermint to dog food because it could make a positive contribution to the prevention of breed-specific complaints in relation to the intestines and gallbladder. Preventing itching is also one of the properties of the peppermint plant.

Peppermint can promote fresh breath. The mint in peppermint can have an anti-spasmodic effect on the intestine and promotes the flow of bile in the intestine. In addition, it can have an antiseptic effect. Peppermint is rich in vitamins A and C and minerals such as calcium, copper, iron, magnesium and phosphorus.

Spirulina

Spirulina is a food supplement with an exceptionally high nutritional value, made from blue-green algae found in tropical and subtropical regions. It belongs to the microalgae family. Did you know that spirulina can be grown in space and consists of 60 to 70% protein?

It is rich in vitamins, including B12, minerals such as calcium, iron, zinc, magnesium and potassium and all essential amino acids. Spirulina can contribute to the health and well-being of the dog in an overall sense. In addition, it can contribute to supporting the immune system and promoting healthy skin and a shiny coat. The algae also has a detoxifying effect and promotes digestion.

Apple

The apple tree is a tree from the genus Malus, on which the apples, which are widely known in the Northern Hemisphere, grow. The apple grows in temperate regions.

Dietary fiber has a versatile effect in the digestive tract. They are able to absorb moisture, making the stool soft and flexible. Dietary fiber also increases the volume in the intestines. Puppy, adult or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Alaska malamute dog food varieties, you can use the following guidelines. If your Alaska malamute is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For an Alaska malamute older than 7 years old, we recommend the Yourdog Alaska malamute senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years old, you can choose the Adult variant.

Nutritional advice

Switching advice

If you switch to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following the following steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then you feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this again for two or three days. Then you mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog has now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. You can then feed 100% Yourdog Alaska malamute dog food at your own discretion.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect the shelf life and taste. It is therefore important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or barrel in a dry, cool and dark place. It is best not to put the food loose in the barrel, but to place it in the barrel with the entire bag, which you close as best as possible.
