Our ingredients

To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it can be processed better in our chunks. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for the dog.

Buffalo

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants from Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants and algae, among other things, has its origins back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food has been carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or the breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by the use of herbs, roots, flowers and plants.

We have carefully examined the breed characteristics of the Russian toy. We also conducted research into the properties of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Russian toy belongs. From these studies, in consultation with a leading Dutch nutritionist, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Russian toy.

Nettle

Stinging nettle is a plant genus of which the large nettle and the small nettle occur in the Netherlands and Belgium. Nettle is known for its cleansing and blood purifying effect. According to various sources, nettle is bactericidal and therefore very suitable for infectious diseases. The leaves are also useful for diarrhea or other digestive disorders.

Nettle supports the functioning of the liver and kidneys by stimulating the breakdown of waste products. In addition, it works to support the dog's bladder and hair growth.

Nettle also contains silicic acid, or silicon. This is a building material that is part of connective tissue in, among other things, the bones, tendons, ligaments, skin, hair and nails. Silicon supports the natural production of the skin (cells) and ensures the maintenance of healthy skin.

At Yourdog we add nettle to our dog food because it can make a positive contribution to the prevention of breed-specific complaints in relation to the dog's coat, skin and bones, but also to prevent digestive and/or urinary problems. .

Tomato

The tomato is part of the nightshade family and comes from the tomato plant, originally from Mesoamerica. Small varieties were cultivated in Mesoamerica by the Aztecs and the Maya. In 1893, it was decided in America that the fruit should be considered a vegetable.

At Yourdog we use tomatoes on a culinary level, based on tomatoes as a vegetable.

Tomatoes are rich in nutrients, low in calories and have a high soluble fiber content which aids digestion. Tomatoes also contain lycopene, which is why tomatoes owe their red color. The redder a tomato is, the more lycopene it contains. Besides giving a tomato its red color, it is also known as a powerful antioxidant. For example, research has shown that lycopene can, among other things, protect against cancer and help with cardiovascular disease. In addition, tomatoes contain a lot of vitamin C and vitamin A and B complexes, which can contribute to healthy skin and an improved immune system.

Plums

The plum is a tree fruit from the rose family and falls under the category of drupes. The plum trees are known for their beautiful blossoms in the spring and the sweet and juicy fruit was eaten early in Roman times.

Plums contain numerous healthy nutrients, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Plums are rich in vitamins A, B6, B12, C and D and the minerals potassium, magnesium and iron. In addition, plums are low in calories and are known for their laxative effect.

Puppy, adult or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Russian toy dog ​​food varieties, you can use the following guidelines. If your Russian toy is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Russian toy older than 7 years we recommend the Yourdog Russian toy senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years old, you can choose the Adult variant.

Nutritional advice

Switching advice

If you switch to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following the following steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then you feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this again for two or three days. Then you mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog has now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. You can then feed 100% Yourdog Russian toy dog ​​food at your own discretion.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect the shelf life and taste. It is therefore important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or barrel in a dry, cool and dark place. It is best not to put the food loose in the barrel, but to place it in the barrel with the entire bag, which you close as best as possible.
