Seresto 1.25 g + 0.56 g collar for cats < 8 kg.
With the active ingredients: imidacloprid and flumethrin.
Indications
Treatment and prevention of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides) for 7 to 8 months. The effectiveness against fleas starts immediately after applying the collar. Protects against development of flea larvae in the immediate environment of the animal for 8 months. Seresto can be used as part of a treatment strategy against Flea Allergy Dermatitis (VAD). The product has persistent acaricidal (lethal) efficacy against tick infestations (Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Dermacentor reticulatus) and repellent (anti-feeding) efficacy against tick infestations (Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus) for 8 months. It is effective against larvae, nymphs and adult ticks. It is possible that ticks that were already present on the cat before treatment are not killed within 48 hours of applying the collar and remain attached and visible. Therefore, it is recommended to remove ticks already on the cat at the time of application. The prevention of infections with new ticks starts within two days after applying the collar. Treatment of biting/sucking lice infestations (Trichodectes canis). Ideally, the collar should be applied before the start of the flea or tick season.
Contraindications
Do not treat kittens less than 10 weeks old. Do not use in case of known hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or any of the excipients.
Side effects
Occasionally, in animals that are not used to wearing a collar, a slight itching and/or redness may be observed during the first days after application. Make sure the collar is not too tight. Slight hair loss and mild skin reactions may occur at the application site, which usually resolve within 1 to 2 weeks without the need to remove the collar. In certain cases, temporary removal of the collar may be appropriate until symptoms resolve. Rare side effects, which usually pass on their own, include lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, excessive salivation and loss of appetite.
Dosage
One collar per animal to be placed around the neck. Cats up to and including 8 kg body weight receive one Seresto collar for cats < 8 kg with a length of 38 cm. For external use only.
