Our ingredients
To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it can be processed better in our chunks. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for the dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog we use meat from freely raised and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color and is full of vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog we use duck, chicken and turkey, which together provide the kibble with a delicious taste and aroma. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle building and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetable
To provide the dog with extra valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables have been added to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious, but they also have other healthy properties. The raw fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.
Fruit
We add a unique combination of fruit to Yourdog, so that the dog gets all the essential, natural antioxidants. For example, fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, but it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the health of the dog.
Spices
The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants from Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants and algae, among other things, has its origins back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food has been carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or the breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by the use of herbs, roots, flowers and plants.
Bernese Mountain Dog specific vegetables, herbs and fruit
We have carefully examined the breed characteristics of the Bernese Laufhund. We have also conducted research into the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Bernese Laufhund belongs. From these studies, in consultation with a leading Dutch nutritionist, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Bernese Mountain Dog.
Chamomile
Chamomile is a genus from the composite family. Chamomile is widely cultivated in Hungary and Eastern Europe. It also grows wild throughout Europe. The name Chamomile comes from a Greek word meaning ground apple and refers to the apple scent. Chamomile has a great reputation in natural medicine.
We can add chamomile to Yourdog dog food because it could make a positive contribution to the prevention of breed-specific complaints in relation to the stomach, intestines, skin, rheumatism, nerves, inflammation and urinary tract.
Chamomile can have a mildly soothing effect on the dog and could therefore be used in dogs that often experience stress. In addition, it can have a positive effect on dogs with nervous digestion. It can have a despasmodic and antiseptic effect.
Basil
Basil is a genus from the Lamiaceae family. The name comes from Ancient Greek, where Œbasileus means king, the alternative name is king herb. It is native to central Africa and southeast Asia.
According to traditional medicine, basil was used as a treatment for arthritis, bronchitis, colds, stomach ulcers, heart disease and abdominal pain, among other things. Research has shown that basil may have strong antioxidant, antiviral and antimicrobial properties. In addition, basil can promote digestion, helps with the removal of waste products and can have an antispasmodic and calming effect on the dog.
Cranberry
The cranberry is a plant from the heather family. In the Netherlands, this plant is mainly found on the Wadden Islands and very rare in the rest of the Netherlands. The plant originally comes from North America and is said to have first come to the Netherlands around 1845.
Cranberries contain a unique blend of nutrients that can provide a powerful health boost for dogs. The berries are rich in minerals such as potassium, which ensures a healthy level of vital fluids in the body. These berries are also full of vitamins A, B and C and antioxidants to support the immune system. Vitamin C makes the urine more acidic, which makes the environment in the bladder less attractive to bacteria. Adding cranberry can also have a pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effect. The healthy fibers in cranberries have a healthy influence on digestion and ensure a feeling of fullness for longer.
Cranberry is added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to the prevention of breed-specific complaints in relation to, among other things, digestion, skin, joints, bones and nerve functions.

Switching advice
If you switch to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following the following steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then you feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this again for two or three days. Then you mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog has now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. You can then feed 100% Yourdog Berner Laufhund dog food at your own discretion.
Storage advice
After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect the shelf life and taste. It is therefore important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or barrel in a dry, cool and dark place. It is best not to put the food loose in the barrel, but to place it in the barrel with the entire bag, which you close as best as possible.
