Our ingredients
To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it can be processed better in our chunks. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for the dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog we use meat from freely raised and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color and is full of vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog we use duck, chicken and turkey, which together provide the kibble with a delicious taste and aroma. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle building and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetable
To provide the dog with extra valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables have been added to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious, but they also have other healthy properties. The raw fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.
Fruit
We add a unique combination of fruit to Yourdog, so that the dog gets all the essential, natural antioxidants. For example, fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, but it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the health of the dog.
Spices
The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants from Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants and algae, among other things, has its origins back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food has been carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or the breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by the use of herbs, roots, flowers and plants.
German Shorthaired Pointer specific vegetables, herbs and fruit
We have carefully examined the breed characteristics of the German Longhaired Pointer. We have also conducted research into the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the German Longhaired Pointer belongs. From these studies, in consultation with a leading Dutch nutritionist, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the German Longhaired Pointer.
Chondroitin
Chondroitin occurs naturally in the dog's body and is one of the most important components of cartilage tissue. In dogs, chondroitin is able to attract and retain moisture, which should provide a spongy suspension in the cartilage.
Chondroitin improves the flexibility of the cartilage and also has an analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect. In addition, it also stimulates the production of the building blocks that serve for healthy cartilage.
If chondroitin is given in combination with glucosamine, it supports and strengthens the effect of glucosamine. It is therefore often given as a nutritional supplement for people and animals suffering from osteoarthritis.
Banana
The banana plant grows in tropical areas where the temperature does not fall below 10 degrees Celsius. There is even evidence that the banana may have been cultivated in New Guinea about 7,000 years ago. The name is derived from the word Œbanaana from the language of the Wolof people.
Bananas are rich in vitamins and minerals. Including vitamins A, C and B11 (folic acid) and the minerals potassium, magnesium, iron and zinc. The natural antioxidant, vitamin C, can strengthen resistance. Vitamin B11, or folic acid, can support the immune system and contribute to a properly functioning nervous system. It can also reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Potassium can also contribute to lowering blood pressure in dogs with high blood pressure, magnesium can contribute to relaxing the muscles and promoting bone growth. In addition, banana contains a lot of good fiber and provides more good bacteria in the intestines.
Tomato
The tomato is part of the nightshade family and comes from the tomato plant, originally from Mesoamerica. Small varieties were cultivated in Mesoamerica by the Aztecs and the Maya. In 1893, it was decided in America that the fruit should be considered a vegetable.
At Yourdog we use tomatoes on a culinary level, based on tomatoes as a vegetable.
Tomatoes are rich in nutrients, low in calories and have a high soluble fiber content which aids digestion. Tomatoes also contain lycopene, which is why tomatoes owe their red color. The redder a tomato is, the more lycopene it contains. Besides giving a tomato its red color, it is also known as a powerful antioxidant. For example, research has shown that lycopene can, among other things, protect against cancer and help with cardiovascular disease. In addition, tomatoes contain a lot of vitamin C and vitamin A and B complexes, which can contribute to healthy skin and an improved immune system.
Tomato is added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to the prevention of breed-specific complaints in relation to digestion, skin, vision and cardiovascular diseases. In addition, it can have a general purifying effect on the body.

Switching advice
If you switch to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following the following steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then you feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this again for two or three days. Then you mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog has now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your own discretion you can then feed 100% Yourdog German Shorthaired Pointer dog food.
Storage advice
After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect the shelf life and taste. It is therefore important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or barrel in a dry, cool and dark place. It is best not to put the food loose in the barrel, but to place it in the barrel with the entire bag, which you close as best as possible.
